FAQ (FAQ)

1. Basic Activation & Authorization

Q1: Do I need to register an account to use BlobGet?

A: No. BlobGet adopts the traditional License activation code method. It does not require registration or login at all. After downloading and installing the software, you can unlock all corresponding functions by directly entering the activation code, which is simple and efficient.

Q2: What types of activation codes are there? What is the validity period?

A: BlobGet activation codes are divided into two types: Monthly Subscription and Lifetime Validity:

  • Monthly Subscription Activation Code: Valid for 30 days from the date of successful activation, and all functions can be unlocked within the validity period;
  • Lifetime Activation Code: Permanently valid. After activation, all functions can be used for a long time without time limits.

Q4: What should I do if activation fails?

A: If activation fails, you can troubleshoot according to the following steps:

  1. Check if the activation code is entered correctly (case-sensitive, avoid missing or extra characters);
  2. Ensure that the current BlobGet software is the latest version (older versions may have compatibility issues);
  3. Check if the network connection is normal, and try reactivating after switching networks;
  4. If all the above operations are ineffective, you can contact BlobGet official customer service and provide the activation code information for verification.

2. Function Usage

Q5: What is the functional difference between the unactivated version and the activated version?

A: The two only differ in the online audio and video download function; all other functions are completely consistent:

  • Unactivated Version: Online audio and video download has a limit on the number of times (trial quota), and activation is required to continue using after exceeding the limit;
  • Activated Version: Online audio and video download is unlimited, supporting full-platform parsing and downloading, while unlocking all advanced functions.

Q6: What types of files does BlobGet support downloading?

A: Full-scenario downloading is supported:

  • Online Audio & Video: Supports mainstream platforms such as YouTube and TikTok (Note: The Chrome extension does not support YouTube due to store restrictions; it can be used through the Edge extension or desktop software);
  • General Files: HTTP/HTTPS direct link files (documents, compressed packages, installation packages, etc.);
  • Magnet Links/BT Torrents: Supports P2P downloading, compatible with magnet links and .torrent files.

Q7: Which browsers does the browser extension support? How to install it?

A: The BlobGet browser extension fully supports two mainstream browsers: Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge:

  • Installation Method: Install directly through the official app store link (no need to manually download the installation package);
  • Installation Links:
    • Chrome Extension: BlobGet Chrome Official Installation Link (replace with actual URL)
    • Edge Extension: BlobGet Edge Official Installation Link (replace with actual URL)

Q8: What is the "Auto-Host Download" function of the browser extension? How to configure it?

A: The Auto-Host Download function can monitor the browser's native download requests and automatically connect eligible download tasks to BlobGet for management without manual operation:

  1. Click the BlobGet extension icon in the browser toolbar to open the settings panel;
  2. Turn on the"Enable Auto-Capture" switch to allow the extension to monitor download requests;
  3. Set the file size threshold (e.g., 10MB, 100MB). Only when the file size exceeds the threshold will BlobGet download be automatically triggered (small files can retain the browser's default download for flexible resource control).

3. Common Issues & Exception Handling

Q13: Why doesn't the Chrome browser extension support YouTube downloading?

A: Due to the policy restrictions of the Google Chrome Web Store, to comply with platform rules, the Chrome version of the BlobGet extension does not support YouTube video downloading for the time being. This is caused by platform technical restrictions, not a problem with the software itself.

Q14: How to solve the problem of download task parsing failure?

A: You can troubleshoot parsing failures in the following ways:

  1. Check if the link is valid (HTTP/HTTPS direct links and magnet links need to be copied completely without truncation);
  2. Try pasting the link again and parsing it;
  3. For online videos, you can switch to the BlobGet desktop software for parsing (the Chrome extension does not support YouTube, so you can use the Edge extension instead);
  4. Ensure the network connection is normal, without network interception or speed limit.

Q15: Does BlobGet support customizing the download save path?

A: Yes. In the BlobGet software settings interface, you can customize the save path of downloaded files. It also supports the automatic file classification function, which automatically archives files by file type for easy subsequent search and management, without manual sorting.
